In the course of its annual General Assembly in Brussels, the European Metallurgical Engineering Association EUnited Metallurgy elected a new chairman: Mr. Marc Solvi, chief executive officer of Paul Wurth S.A. (Luxembourg). Representing one of the 14 foundation companies, Marc Solvi has already been engaged in the EUnited Metallurgy Board since 2004. In the meantime, just about all major European companies supplying plants and equipment for the steel and non-ferrous metals industry are members of EUnited Metallurgy.
The new chairman follows in the footsteps of Axel E. Barten, acting partner of Achenbach Buschhütten GmbH (Kreuztal, Germany), who had been successfully chairing the association for the first 3-year-term after its foundation in 2004 and who will furtheron stay regular member of the Board, along with Jean-Marc Kohlgruber (Vice-Chairman, CMI Engineering S.A., Belgium), Jean Ledoux (Vice-Chairmen, DMS Groupes Fives-Lille, France), Franco Alzetta and Dario Fabro (Danieli & C., Italy), Dr. Franz Hofmann (Andritz AG, Austria), Dieter Rosenthal (SMS Demag, Germany), Dr. Karl Schwaha (Siemens VAI, Austria), Dr. Anthony Tropeano (Fata Hunter, Italy).
