India and the wire and cable industry
Zurück
Due to the growing global economy, a further increase in demand is expected in the next few years. Up-and-coming, economically developing countries such as India and China are both key sales markets for the wire and cable machine manufacturers as well as producing countries with great economic potential.
Corus, Europe’s second largest steel producer, presented its plans today at a press briefing, to use recent investments to build a leading European position for premium wire rod products.
If thread rolling machines are not monitored during the set-up and production phase, time-consuming setting processes and unnecessary machine loads can quickly result. Together with the machine manufacturer E. W. Menn, Brankamp has now developed an innovative procedure for monitoring thread rolling machines. The process-monitoring system even allows untrained operators to configure the machine perfectly.
Production of small gauge copper wire by multipass drawing still offers room for improvements, mainly in terms of defect prevention and control. Description of the plastic deformation process and related phenomena helps to map safe operating conditions. Some aspects of a numerical and experimental investigation on small gauge copper wire drawing process are presented, and results are reviewed which point out some ways to improve product quality by better selection of process parameters.
