Let’s focus on the ‘green’ concern

The Gauder Group will highlight on the booth latest innovations in rotating machines driven by operating cost reduction approach. This can be obtained by increasing productivity or/and by saving energy. Let’s focus on the ‘green’ concern. First, energy saving possibility is using machines equipped with power recovery systems. On the exhibited new Concentric Stranding line COS 1200-2, the power consumption has been drastically reduced : to strand 150sq.mm only 40KW for the complete line are consumed – or 36KW for 120sq.mm – which is much lower than conventional stranding line ! This interesting result is obtained by using regenerative power from the large and heavy built-in reels to produce electricity through a bus connection. The reels in this case becomes power generator ! A second mean consists in using adapted equipment for lower power consumption of energy. As an example, equipping high speed double twist Twinners or Bunchers with the “GreenBow” enables 30% energy saving on bow motorization. The advanced composite material and the special aerodynamic design of the bow have been especially studied to minimize friction and loss and therefore to reduce the consumption of electricity. Additional advantages are easy maintenance (removable tube) and less bow crashes (fully closed design).
