Leonding/Austria (Ebner) – Dongbu Special Steel Co., Ltd. of Korea has ordered another Hicon/H2® bell annealer facility from Ebner for its Pohang works. The new facility will double the Hicon/H2® annealing capacity at Dongbu Special Steel's steel wire works. The expansion phase comprises three Hicon/H2® workbases, two heating bells and a cooling bell as well as new pressure control systems for hydrogen, nitrogen and fuel gas. Each workbase can accommodate a net charge of max. 48 tons (52.9 USt). With a max. annealing temperature of 810°C (1490° F), the facility is perfect for cold-heading grades and ball bearing steel. The new facility will be integrated into the existing control and central operating systems. Full workbase/bell compatibility the six existing Hicon/H2® workbases is guaranteed. The facility is scheduled to start production in April 2012.
