The new Plasticolor 2500 is consequently a logical development based on the excellent results of the Plasticolor 5000. Nearly all materials can be handled by this dosing unit. Free-flowing powders, regrind, granules, agglomerate, etc., are being handled with high precision and very material sensitive. Large diameters, perfect flow channels and perfect matching solutions are giving a clear advantage compared to the competition. Furthermore a clear advantage is to be seen in the extreme easy handling of the Plasticolor 2500. A material discharge of the complete unit is possible within seconds. The large manual operated discharge slide in combination with a hose connection (dia. = 75mm) can optionally also be supplied in pneumatic version. This extra gadget is having clear advantages when the equipment is installed in remote or inaccessible areas or for a fully automatic operation. The material trials and quantity tests can be made with the newly designed neckpiece slide/test chute. This neckpiece slide also serves as closing device of the dosing unit to the main materials stream or when the dosing unit is not to be operated. Also this neckpiece slide can be optionally supplied in pneumatic version. The pneumatic version is very often chosen when – for instance – regular material or colour changes are to be done or in production of short runs or when running a fully automatic operation. The complete capacity range from 0,2 up to 160 kg/h is being achieved by the usage of six different screw/cylinder assemblies.
Optionally all screws can be supplied with a specially developed powder seals. This seal provides a nearly dust- and dirt-free production when regrind (with high dust content), micro granules or powders (for instance PVC dry blend) are being processed. Guide Pins in the motor shelf guarantee the perfect fitting of the seal disc in the housing of the dosing unit and also serve as motor protection against back pressure.
