The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. has selected Pat D’Eramo, Vice President Manufacturing, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky (TMMK), as the keynote speaker for Interwire 2009. His address—entitled “The Future of Automobile Manufacturing”—will be given on Monday, April 27, 2009, as part of the WAI’s Annual Award Breakfast, the traditional kickoff to the week’s activities that include more than 100,000 sq. ft. exhibition, technical paper presentations, and industry meetings to be held at The International Exposition Center (I-X Center), Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
Pat D’Eramo draws on his 24 years of operations-related experience, which includes eight years with Toyota and 16 years spread between General Motors and a joint venture between GM and Toyota recognised as the New United Motor Manufacturing Incorporated (NUMMI). He has prior experience as General Manager of Body Operations at TMMK where he led all Body Weld & Stamping production, engineering, pilot and maintenance activities. TMMK is now Toyota’s largest production facility outside of Japan.
“This topic is an area of great interest that affects US manufacturing and the wire industry in particular so we are fortunate to be able to offer Interwire attendees the opportunity to hear Pat D’Eramo’s perspective on the subject,” said WAI Executive Director Steven Fetteroll.
