Wires manufactured of aluminium and aluminium alloys, which up to now have been applied in high and medium voltage lines or as coaxial cable, have recently been used in the automotive industry as well in view of the possible reduction in costs and weight. Other planned fields of application are for example the production of enamelled wires. Up to now oils are used for drawing of aluminium wires. Especially in the field of rod wire drawing those partially highly viscous media are essential, however, linked with the known disadvantages such as an impossible filtration. Thanks to their lower viscosity, the products from the Berudraw-family made by Bechem offers a considerably improved filterability, residue-free wires and more stable drawing processes. New ways are now open for the end users: using emulsion for multiwire drawing of aluminium allows a pleasant and clean working area which cannot be achieved when operating the drawing machines with conventional drawing oils. Clean drawing machines and optimal filtration provide an almost residue-free finished product with high-quality surfaces which guarantee best finishing of the aluminium wires. Thanks to the well selected additives, the products from the Unopol AL-series offer long lifetime of the emulsion and best lubricating properties, as well as the frame parameters for a stable drawing process.
