Carl Zeiss MicroImaging GmbH is introducing the Axio Observer inverted research microscope in three different configurations for materials microscopy. High performance optics, a clearly structured touch screen display and different degrees of coding and motorization depending on the configuration considerably increase the convenience and reliability of, for example, material and structural analysis, component measurements and routine examinations in metal production and processing. The operating comfort offered by the microscopes is tailored to the individual requirements of users in materials labs in research, education and industry, in quality assurance and metallography labs. With the Axio Observer.A1m, Axio Observer.D1m and Axio Observer.Z1m configurations, the optimal system is available for any requirement – from the entry level class to the high-end version.
The apochromatically corrected illumination beam path leads to substantially improved performance in all contrasting techniques in incident light, ensures brilliant, true-to-color detail rendition in brightfield, and offers optimal stray light minimization in darkfield. This allows the detection of even the smallest object structures and defects. Fluorescence, transmitted light-brightfield, phase contrast, homogenous DIC, C-DIC and polarization can also be used.
With extensive status monitoring and complete microscope control, the touch screen TFT display on the Axio Observer.Z1m allows unique possibilities for microscope and system operation. Together with the docking station, complete remote control of the microscope is also possible. User settings can be stored and re-accessed at any time. All encoded, motorized elements on the Axio Observer.D1m and Axio Observer.Z1m versions guarantee constant status monitoring of the system. The contrast manager and the light manager monitor the settings of the microscope, ensuring excellent image results and reliable operation.
Optimal conditions for materials microscopy are offered by the combination of the microscopes with the AxioVision software and the Grains, MulitPhase, NMI and Graphite application solutions, the docking station and the AxioCam microscope cameras.
