Good start for Vinyl Foundation
Zurück
Buxelles/BE (Vinyl Foundation) –In June, all European PVC converters received a payment request from the Vinyl Foundation, the brand new funding mechanism established on behalf of the PVC converting industry to support the Vinyl 2010 initiative.
Vinyl 2010 is an internationally-respected ten-year voluntary commitment which is working for a sustainable future for the whole European PVC industry. The Vinyl Foundation has been established to allow for further and more equitable financing of Vinyl 2010’s vital PVC recycling projects from Europe’s PVC product manufacturers.
“Since 2000, as an industry, both raw material producers and converters have been investing millions of euros each year through Vinyl 2010 to create a now-thriving industry to reprocess PVC products at the end of their first life. Last year, Vinyl 2010 was responsible for supporting the recycling of some 150,000 tonnes of post consumer PVC waste across the EU. Through the new Vinyl Foundation payment mechanism we have already received nearly half a million euro to ensure that we will be able to continue to expand the recycling of PVC in 2009 and beyond” says Joachim Eckstein, Chairman of the Vinyl Foundation.
