The 12th International wire and cable trade fair for Southeast Asia will be held at Bangkok Trade+Exhibition Centre in Bangkok/Thailand. The show will  will present a one-stop platform for industry players to ride on the rising market prospects brought about by robust industrial and manufacturing developments in Southeast Asia. Wires, cables, tubes and pipes play an indispensable role in today’s market and find extensive usage across a number of applications in several industries. The wire and cable materials market is expected to grow to US-Dollar  297.4 billion by 2019 with a five-year CAGR of 7.7% and this is largely due to the continuously rising applications across key end-use industries, including telecommunication, power, automotive, and construction.

On the other hand, in a new market report published by Lucintel, global water and wastewater pipe market is to grow at CAGR of 5% from 2016 to 2021. In this market, metal, plastic, and concrete are the major raw materials used to manufacture water and wastewater pipes. The report predicts that within the water and wastewater pipe market, wastewater pipe is expected to remain the largest application, spurred on by the growth of residential and commercial construction and growth in infrastructure developments.

Asia Pacific continues to dominate the wire and tube markets, especially so with the presence of several manufacturing-based economies in the region. Similar bullish trends and prospects are also anticipated in the ASEAN states.
Telecommunications: By 2020, an annual growth in fixed broadband subscribers of 10% or additional 23 million subscribers will be represented.
Automotive: Region remains attractive for growth – both from local sales to 600 million people, including a growing middle class that will more than double to 400 million by 2020, as well as a manufacturing hub for regional and global exports.
Power: Energy demand grows by 80% in 2040, coal overtakes oil to become the largest fuel in the energy mix and modern renewables – including hydro, geothermal, wind and solar are set to make inroads in the region’s energy mix.
Construction: Valiant steps being taken to improve infrastructure in emerging countries like Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines so as to attract foreign investors. For example: Philippines Disbursement Acceleration Program to fund public sector projects, Indonesia's ASEAN Infrastructure Fund in 2012, and Vietnam Public Private Partnership office set up under the Ministry of Planning and Investment to improve the PPP governance framework.
Infrastructure: The McKinsey Global Institute forecasts the need for over US-Dollar 2 trillion in investment in road, rail, port, airport, power, water, and telecommunications infrastructure across ASEAN to maintain economic growth.
All in, these positive market indicators in the Southeast Asian region signal new market opportunities that the wire, cable, tube, pipe and related industries can leverage on and presents an opportune setting for wire Southeast Asia 2017.
